4 Missing Components Your Network Marketing Company Usually Don’t Teach You!

If you’re reading this article, you are probably seeking the missing puzzle pieces that
you need to finally get your home-based business going. You are totally committed
to your parent company and their products, you do everything you are told and your
loyalty and dedication are unmatched. You don’t want to admit there is a problem
because you don’t want to waste all of the hard work you’ve put into your business,
but you are tired of seeing the same people up on stage saying they are doing the
same things you are doing. They are rich and you aren’t. Keep reading.

It’s easy to get caught up in the circles of your business community, but let’s face
it…the only thing your Network Marketing company is really responsible for is to
provide you with products to sell, then pay you when you sell them. With this in
mind, most of the training techniques they provide are more focused on increasing
their overall sales rather than teaching each distributor how to be the CEO of their
own company. This isn’t saying that they don’t want you too succeed. There is no
doubt that the more you sell, the more they make. If the average drop-out rate is
over 95%, then what exactly is it that they are leaving out of the equation, and why?
Here are the four main components that companies will probably never teach you.

Missing Component #1: The Best Way To Find People Who Want What
You Have To Offer

The first thing a person is taught in Networking Marketing by their company is to
make a list of friends and family members who could benefit from using the product.
This technique is not only outdated, it just doesn’t work. How many people do you
really know who became rich by doing this? Companies teach you this because they
know that whether or not you continue to succeed in your business, they will
probably get a few customers out of you who will continue to order long after you
are gone if you ever decide to quit. They do not do this to sabotage you. Simply
put, they are a business and they make the most money when they play the
numbers game.

I’m sure that whatever you are selling would benefit each and every person in the
world in one way or another, but that doesn’t mean you should be targeting everyone.
This is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The only true qualified people are
those who have a want, need or desire for what you have. Period!

Let me give you an example. Let’s just say you’re marketing an anti-aging skin care
product line. I know we have a lot of people here who are marketing all kinds of
products. I’m just pulling this one out of the air to use as an example. OK… so
you’re marketing anti-aging products. Does it make sense to sponsor your Uncle
Pete when Uncle Pete’s skin care usually consists of a bar of soap and maybe an
extra splash of Old Spice when he’s feeling frisky? The answer to that question is…
“No Way!” Uncle Pete will maybe do you a favor and join the business and buy some
product… but there is no conviction behind the product and when Uncle Pete
doesn’t make that big money… guess what happens? He quits the business and he
stops using your products because his involvement never WAS about appreciation
and use of your great products.

People will contact you when you put your offer out there, and I’m not talking about
placing fliers on cars, posting notes on bulletin boards or sending postcards to
everyone you know. There are certain proven techniques that will allow you to
successfully attract qualified people without running the risk of being black-balled
from your next family reunion. They aren’t going to waste their time training you on
specifics when it’s more profitable for them in the long run to teach you to just talk
to everyone.

Missing Component #2: How To Position Yourself As A Leader

After your company tells you to make a list of everyone you know, your then usually
instructed to contact them using 3-way calling with the person who signed you up.
This is supposed to be an ice-breaker to let your friends know you are in business,
and to let them know there are successful people doing the business. This technique
is actually doing you a huge disservice. In order for you to be successful, you must
position yourself as the leader.

If you’re doing 3-way calls with your upline…STOP! Think about this for just a
minute. You have a prospect that has a few questions about the compensation
plan and you tell them to hang on a second while you get Ralph (your upline) on
the phone. Who are you working for at this point, and who becomes the expert
in their field? You got it…Ralph is now the expert and you just acted as the cog
in the wheel to help grow your upline’s organization, but what have you done for
your credibility as a business owner. You COMPLETELY destroyed it.

You shouldn’t be worried about recruiting people into a business before you know
what you’re doing in the first place. Focus on the products and getting customers.
People who are recruited for the sole purpose of earning extra money are the ones
who never last. They aren’t grounded on the products and they aren’t focused on
helping people. When they don’t make a huge profit in the first month, they quit.

Missing Component #3: How To Properly Use The Internet As A
Business Tool

Since outdated techniques such as talking to your warm market and placing fliers
everywhere you go only work to get you a few customers, the internet is a great
tool to use for marketing your business. They way companies teach you to use the
internet, however, is unproductive. They will ask you to sign up for their website and
just tell you to put the address on your business card and hand it out to everyone
you see. This is the same thing as talking to everyone. Since they spend lots of
money to make their website to look fancy with lots of bells and whistles, it seems
like a sure-fire way to recruit lots of people, right? Wrong. The problem is that it’s
not what the site looks like that matters, it’s how you get the right audience in
front of the right message that makes the difference.

Most companies use their websites as a branding tactic to promote their logo,
like Nike or Starbucks. People already know who they are so they spend big money
to get a general picture across to a visitor. Being the CEO of your own home-based
business requires a whole different approach to using the internet. You need to
know how to place ads and drive traffic to your site through large search engines.
How to promote yourself through press-releases, articles and blogging. How to build
your own website just based on the right words that your target audience needs
to read. These are the things that make the difference and your company will never
teach you any of these important details because it takes too much time and not
everyone is teachable.

Missing Component #4: How To Develop A Marketing Mindset

The difference between being a marketer and a distributor of a product are like night
and day. What you want to learn is how to be a marketer. That means shifting your
focus from being a representative of a company to simply finding a trend in demand
and filling it with supply. Distributing is a broad approach to selling something, where
as marketing is specific. You are not supposed to shout out to the world and let
everyone know what you have unless you want to waste a lot of time hearing
yourself talk. It’s not about selling, it’s about buying. You have to be aware of your
consumer and truly know what their wants and desires are. How can you do that if
your approach is talking to every stranger that comes within ten feet of you? Your
company will never teach you how to be a marketer because it costs too much
money and training time to devote to it before they will see you earning big money.
They want you to spread the word to everyone and get their message out to the
masses. That takes less time and is better for them in the long run in case you
decide to quit. To understand requires patience and the understanding that you
must give 110% to the consumer’s needs, not your own.

If you truly want to grow a work from home business through Network Marketing,
you must be willing to think outside of the box. Focus on educating yourself on
how to market a product, not just simply selling it. There are thousands of people
out there who want what you have. In order to be successful, you must learn
how to have them find you. Network Marketing companies like to make everything
seem perfect, like there are no weeds in their garden. It’s great to have a positive
attitude about your company but if you find yourself following their techniques
without any result, it’s time to make some changes.

Ultimately it’s about understanding the power of mindset and positioning are the
true reasons behind success in Network Marketing. This is how I turned my business
around after much trial and error and I continue to help others to do the same.
Why? Because it is possible to succeed in Network Marketing. You don’t need to
quit, you just need to change your way of thinking.
